APPLICATION

The SunPro^®-46 is a valuable component of compound feeds due to its favourable dietary effect and high protein content. It is exceptionally suitable substitute for soybean meal and other sources of protein. It is free from anti-nutritive and toxic substances, which makes the product suitable for use in a wider range of circumstances.

It does not contain animal proteins and it can be used in GMO free compound feed!

USE OF PRODUCT, ADVANTAGES OF USE AS A FEEDSTUFF

The crude protein content (46%) of SunPro^®-46 is the same as in soybean meal.
It has a favourable amino acid profile, it is rich in essential amino acids (e.g. methionine).
It does not contain compounds with adverse effects on digestive processes (so called anti-nutritive compounds), so it may be fed safely to all ages of broiler.
Feeding is recommended alongside both corn and wheat meal based diet.

MAIN RESULTS OF THE TESTS ON THE PRODUCT

Results of preliminarily examinations:

The apparent metabolizable energy (AME) content of SunPro^®-46 is ± 9.7 MJ/kg (or 2,300 kcal/kg), i.e. ± 85% that of soybean meal.
SunPro^®-46 with diets containing up to 25% SunPro^®-46 did not change the moisture content of the excreta of the litter. The addition of NSP-enzymes did not alter the moisture content.

Aims:

The objective of the study was to test different enzymes that hydrolyze fibre fractions (carbohydrases) in SunPro^®-46 based diets for chickens. Diets were formulated according to standards of the French poultry industry.

Protocol:

288 male chickens (Ross PM3), 6 groups of 24 cages, 2 birds/cage
Birds were fed two diets:
- Growing: between 0 and 10 d, with 10% SunPro^®-46
- Finishing: between 11 and 28 d, with 20% SunPro^®-46
Growing diet was in mash form, Finishing diet was in pellet form
Chickens were weighed in each cage on d 1, d 10 and d 28
Feed consumption was weighed in each cage on d 10 and d 28

Results:

Broilers receiving 10% SunPro^®-46 in the growing phase and 20% in the finishing phase, at the expense of SBM (25-50% of the SBM protein) showed similar growth performance as broilers fed SBM-based diets. The addition of exogenous enzymes (carbohydrases) increased the release of energy and nutrients (equivalent of +3% energy or nutrients).

REPLACEMENT OF SBM WITH SUNPRO^®-46 WITH THE ADDITION OF FIBROLYTIC AND PHYTOLYTIC ENZYMES IN BROILER DIETS

SUMMARY

A diet with up to 14% SunPro^®-46 has no significantly different effect on the growth of young chickens, compared to a SBM-based diet.
A diet with up to 18% SunPro^®-46 has no adverse effect on the growth of broilers, compared to a SBM-based diet.
The phytic Phosphorus of SunPro^®-46 can be released by means of phytases.
